Question: Winter Skin Trouble

My skin gets dry and flaky in the winter.  What can I do to prevent this?

Many people find that their skin is dryer in the winter.  Drinking plenty of water will help to hydrate your skin from the inside, but a complete skin care regimen is recommended. Cleansers take care of the surface oil and daily debris.  Toners help to rebalance your skin’s normal PH, and by exfoliating the dead skin cells on the surface, your moisturizer can easily penetrate to the healthy cells that need it. Proper skin care will maintain, restore, and prevent damage caused by environmental and internal stress. You should also eat healthy, exercise and get plenty of sleep--you would be surprised how much better you will look and feel when your body is given what it needs to heal and regenerate itself.
